Great complex. The grounds are very well taken care off and the maintenance staff is the best. Phil and Alan can fix anything and are very friendly. My wife and I moved here for a year when we moved to the phoenix area from the east coast. The complex is quiet with a lot of retirees, if you are looking for a rowdy party crowd this isn't the place for you.
The location is perfect for access to Scottsdale and the 101. 15 minutes to old town or Kierland. 30 minutes or less to the airport, about 45 to downtown phx depending on traffic. It's directly across the street from a really nice park with lots of amenities and perfect for walking the dog.
The price isn't cheap but you get what you pay for in life, the complex is large and I'm sure some of the units need updating. We were in a townhouse that was recently remodeled. The appliances are not high end but newer. The only downside was the upstairs in the townhouse got very hot and wad hard to cool off. The large pool is really nice and heated in the winter, we were able to swim about 10 months out of the year.
We really enjoyed our time at La Privada and would definitely recommend it.
