Being a first time mom to be to twins is a challenge. Especially if I have no idea of what are the next steps as days go by or what to expect when you are feeling sick all the time.
STAFF
At the beginning of my pregnancy during the first trimester, I spent a lot of time visiting this clinic for ultrasounds. The front desk staff were friendly and the technicians were great.
WAIT TIME
10-20 mins generally. Normally it takes about 10 mins to be called in.
PICTURES
I was given printed images every so visit at no charge. Make sure not to get the paper wet because the ink will smudge.
CON 1 - Technology/ 2 litres of Water
Every time I'd be asked to drink 2 litres of water before I come in. If you don't drink enough, they won't be able to do the ultra sound until you consume more water. When I go to Mount Sinai for my ultra sounds, I was never asked to drink water. Not sure if this clinic needs an upgrade to their technology but having to drink that much water every visit is tough on a pregnant woman. The bigger the belly the harder to fill the belly with water for that long. Don't forget to count the travel time to get there, wait time to be called in, then finally the ultra sound session.
CON 2 - Student in Training
On my 2nd last visit, I was stuck with a student in training who was doing my "measurements" and scanning. With twins, they spend at least 1-2 hours on your belly. The experienced technician who was suppose to supervise her was not much of a help or teacher in any way. I can't recall her name but she's suppose to be one of the top/ best technicians at the clinic. She had short hair, greying and with glasses. She's for sure well over in her 50s.
I understand that students must be trained but please keep an eye on everything they do. The student had to redo my measurements many times before she got it perfect. And the technician will only occasionally check on the student while huffing and puffing down her neck with frustration. She won't be able to learn and don't forget that me as the patient is holding down buckets of urine for more than an hour and dying to use the washroom. The amount of pressure being pushed down from the scanner thing really made me want to pee in my pants. It was a painful session because she was rubbing really hard in certain areas of my belly on a overly filled bladder.
I would've given this place a 4 star. However, with that experience with the occasionally supervised student in training from the so called best technician at the clinic was unacceptable. That tech was unwilling to teach and definitely not friendly. I felt such a negative vibe the moment I walked in.
