  • I decided to go with Stephanie Lake because she was recommended to me via a friend. When I went down to fill out the forms to become a client not once was I greeted by a paralegal, attorney or office manager. I was handed paperwork via the receptionist in which I filled out and then left without knowing if they were taking my case or not. About 2 weeks later I received a call and was told they would take my case after filling out more forms. They sent me paperwork to get filled out by my doctors and wanted me to do all the legwork in which I thought was their job to do. They do not respond to emails and take forever to return a call unless you specify a date you would like a return call. I was told by an associate that I would be updated every 90 days about my case as it gets closer to the hearing. Then about 2 months before my hearing I received a letter in the mail from the Social Security office which states they have not been updated on my medical history for past year. I called the office and was told I would have to fill out the form and submit it to the Social Security office. I said I had been informing their office of my doctor's and appointments and thought that it was their job to fill out and update the office. Stephanie Lake then called the same day to tell me she thought I needed to find other representation. I told her all I wanted was someone to walk me through the process as I have never been through this and she stated that this was not something they do in this office. She was pissed that I had called the Social Security office to get an update on my case since they were not in contact with me as promised. She was very rude and nasty. I am actually impressed she is still in business. I will be filing a complaint with the Social Security Administration about how unethical she is.
