  • After deciding last minute to add an extra night on our Vegas vacation, we came to find that due to the AVN awards and the electronics show that our original hotel was sold out. We had no other choice than the Golden Nugget or the Stratosphere. "It wont be that bad", my boyfriend said trying to cheer me up, "they just remodeled". Ha! What a joke. We couldn't wait to get the hell out of the place. First off, when we made our reservations we were never told that as a "Rush Tower" guest we had our own private entrance and reception desk. So there goes half the fun right out the window. When we arrived in our room I was shocked by how hip and modern the remodel appeared to be, "yea, this isn't so bad" I assured myself. Well in just a few short moments that thought was gone. First our shower head didn't work. At all. A quick call to maintenance and a pot-bellied work horse was attempting to fix our shower head. Sexy huh? Oh I'm in the Vegas mood now! 45 minutes later, he got it working. Next we decided to order a movie to find the speakers were blown out on the TV, so our film sounded like a 3rd grader trying to talk into a microphone where they insist on shoving their mouths into it. A quick call to the front desk and our movie was refunded. On our way out to hit the strip, we walked through the casino and the fake facade of decadence to find that their sushi restaurant smelled of grandpas feet meets back alley fish slaughter house. I cant imagine anyone would have eaten there. They next morning we were awoken at 7am to the lovely tapping of the housekeeper trying to get into our room. 7am, seriously? Finally, ready to leave to go check into a real hotel, we though hey, lets go use our private valet where there is no line! Nope, they very rudely explained to us that since we originally checked in at the main desk, that's where we had to go. 35 minutes later, we had our car and sped away leaving tire marks behind us. Never, ever again.
