| - I decided to go to Woodies for convenience sake and was pleasantly surprised. This is their newest location located in Ballantyne about a mile from the corporate park. I usually go to the Firestone, since I can walk back to my office, but decided to give Woodie's a try. You are able to pull your car right up to the door and I was greeted right away my Jo Jo. I walked in around 8:15 and all I needed was a routine oil change on my corolla. He explained the wait could be close to an hour and half. They have a courtesy shuttle which is great to know and I'll probably use it in the future. I decided to wait in their lobby since they have Wi-Fi and I could take my conference call while I wait ( I was the only one in the lobby and I rarely talk during these morning check in calls) that's beside the point.
I've seen other Woodies around Charlotte and this one looks by far the nicest. Everything was incredibly clean, organized. They had several chairs, sofas, tables. The coffee bar was well stocked and even included snacks. At this point, the lobby is a better working environment than my office. Through a large window you can see into the shop, similar to a Discount Tire. After waiting 20 minutes later, Jo Jo said my car was almost ready, suggested a few maintenance items, but not in a pushy way. In about 45 minutes my oil and air filter was changed and I was on my way to work. I told Jo Jo that my car was ready a lot sooner than expected and he said since I waited, he wanted to get my car done quickly. Woody's is about 20 dollars more. 39.50 total with my Ballantyne discount card, ( 5.00 off) but I'll gladly pay a little extra for the great service and nice experience.
While I always get second opinions on major car issues this is a good place for a quick oil change and routine things.
