| - Oh my gawd I am in love with this place after one visit. In fact, the existence of this amazing coffee shop makes me love Pittsburgh a whole lot more.
Pourover coffee... yay! I have deeply missed a freshly brewed cup of GOOD western coffee after a whole summer of nothing but vietnamese iced coffee. Their current sundried ethiopian is like super extra extremely fruity, and once I got over that the lemony soapy aftertaste is actually just the way the coffee is, I really enjoyed it.
Super friendly staff, yay again! They aren't the judgmental snobby type, either, and made me feel right at home my first time. They even went out of their way to make sure I was enjoying something I liked if I didn't like the one I tried. It's also clear they know and love their regulars here, and I'm so sad I don't live closer! I'd come everyday.
And what's even better - and this is HUGE for me - the shop occupies a large space, with big tables spread out far enough for privacy, and lets a lot of sunlight in. Somehow it's pretty noise cancelling as well since its easy to tune out occasional chatter, though most people there are doing some sort of work. This is by far the most productive coffee shop I've ever been to, and I'm always on the prowl for those. Major extra bonus points!
It's a bit of a pain to get there from my suburban bubble, but I'd say it's definitely worth the trek.
