| - This was my very first trip to Las Vegas and after reading a lot of mixed reviews about this hotel I didn't know what to expect. I made the reservation anyways and requested 2 beds with a view on the Strip. I had an amazing view of the Strip and it actually looked a lot better at night.
Guest service:
They were very friendly and helpful, answered all our questions and most of all were very accommodating. As I said before, I called and asked for 2 beds and a view of the Strip and they made sure my request was met.
When it came for us to get tickets for shows, one of the front desk person was kind enough to tell us to check the prices online as they are always running specials or promotions. I thought that was very nice of him.
We were able to purchase tickets online for Zumanity at a lower cost this way.
The room:
The New York New York hotel and casino is an older hotel on the Strip and to be honest I was a bit skeptical making the reservation. I am glad I did though, the room was clean, the shower/bathroom was clean and our view of the Strip was fantastic. If you are on a budget and are looking for a hotel on the Strip and walking distance from everything, look no further this place will meet your expectations. The only complain I have is room service. My friend and I had left to venture out on Las Vegas boulevard when we got back around 2 pm our room had still not been cleaned.
The casino:
It is pretty basic with slot machines, Craps table, poker and blackjack tables. What I thought was awesome and unfortunately didn't take advantage of are the poker, blackjack and craps lessons they teach between noon and 2pm daily. For people like me who have limited knowledge about Craps, this is a great way to learn the rules of the game.
Also inside casino is the Hershey store where you can buy New York themed candy. It was so tempting because you can smell the chocolate and it smells delicious. As you know you can smoke in casino s in Las Vegas, NY NY casino in my opinion was one the least smokey casinos on the strip.
If that doesn't convince you, if you are a thrill seeker like me, you will LOVE the Big Apple roller coaster inside the casino. The roller coaster is supposed to represent a cab ride in busy NYC and it was truly fun and amazing. I loved it so much that I rode it back to back.
You also have all these amazing restaurants on sites. From Shake shack, to NY style pizzas to Mexican inspired food, to Irish themed pubs, the choices are unlimited.
In conclusion, I was truly impressed by the hotel and like I said if you are on a budget and want to be close to everything (I.e the strip and stores) this hotel will not disappoint you. 3.5 stars. Overall great experience.
