I, too had the same experience as Keith B. I had seen so many good reviews and was looking for a new dentist in Charlotte and thought this place would be a good bet. Started off I would have to pay for X-rays as it is a requirement and they would not even see me without them taking X-rays. They wouldn't be covered by insurance as it hadn't been a year since I had them done. I was taken back fairly quickly. I got in the room and there were 2 technicians. The TV was on and it it appeared to be for their benefit. I asked them to turn it down. They took X-rays and then checked my gums. From there they proceeded to tell me I had bone loss and gum disease and they wouldn't be any cleaning done that day. Dentist came and checked for cavities, but wasn't in the room for more than a couple of minutes. He seemed very young. I was very agitated as I have had plenty of dental work done in the past and never had this kind of experience. I was overdue for a cleaning due to our move. I have always had my teeth cleaned regularly. I had never been denied a cleaning in the over 30 years I have been going to a dentist. They then proceeded to sell me some mouthwash at the tune of $15. They presented me with a treatment plan totaling over $1,000 with insurance not covering the majority. They stated I would have to come back for two separate appointments for what they referred to as a "deep cleaning". My husband was also in another room with the expectation of a cleaning. To our surprise he was also told he has periodontal disease and needed to come back for two separate appointments. They told both of us we have bone loss along with telling my daughter she too has bone loss. So we left the office and had to pay money and did not receive the services we came for. We now have to go somewhere else to get this done and who knows what insurance will pay. It is very upsetting to come to a new town and have this happen.
