  • Went to Rite Aid today. Just had time for a small quick snack before I had to get back to work. A drink and "buy one get one free" rite aid brand cashews. Got to the cashier, and she asked if I had a Plenti card. Said I have one, but I can't find it. (Honestly, with the 9000 cards from each and every store out there these days, I'd have to be a pack mule to carry all those things.). I tried my number, it didn't come up. Tried my husbands number..nada. Those things are not Rite Aid's fault..I get it. Not mad at them for that. However, I was in a hurry, so I grabbed the cashews out of the bag, and told the cashier to just take them off. She then rudely said...don't be mad at me about it. I said, "I'm not mad at you, I'm irritated every store expects us to carry a gazillion cards to get a discount", and I informed her most stores have a card behind the register they just use when customers don't have theirs. She said, "well that's against our policy, it's not my fault, don't be mad at me". Well...honestly, she was getting pretty irritating saying that to me over and over again, as if it helped the situation in some way. So, by the time I left, I really was irritated with her. Honestly, I get that not having my card is my fault, and the store having a crap policy of no sale, rather than helping customers at least spend some money at their store is not her fault. However...what IS her fault? The immediate attitude when I told her to remove the cashews, the persistence that she was just a worker there and not a face for the company, and the idea that she is somehow not responsible for good customer service. Honestly, she could see I was distraught, and she made matters worse rather than better. Terrible customer service.
