| - The fact that the Corolla I stumbled upon in the Intermediate section seemed fresh off of the line (including an odometer with under 200 miles on it) made up for the wait at this busy but efficient Alamo.
I hadn't been expecting too much traffic given an evening arrival on a Tuesday. The shuttle from the terminal to the LAS car rental center was moderately full though, and from the movement of those passengers arriving, Alamo seemed to be drawing the most business.
The low prices on one-way offers certainly caught my attention!
The line moved somewhat slowly but, to Alamo's credit, at least all of the check-in desks were staffed for the rush. If you're able to use the automated check-in kiosks, do. It makes the process of picking up your vehicle almost as seamless (read: devoid of upsells or other random questions) as renting from Alamo's corporate cousin National's Emerald Aisle.
One of the larger branches that I've been to, the selection here seemed to be somewhat hit-or-miss. In the Intermediate aisle, I only found a handful of options to choose from (literally, about 5), but at least there seemed to be a few cars of each type in each section and what was available was in good condition.
Minor delays and an upsell attempt aside, the fact that there were quality cars, ready to go and being processed by a hospitable staff helped matters. I was able to get onto the road within about 45 minutes.
