| - I went to Sadu to look into getting my nose pierced on a Sunday afternoon based on the great reviews online. There were quite a few people already waiting in line that day, a lot of them young girls with their mothers, waiting to be pierced. The customer service I received once I was finally able to talk to the person behind the counter was laughable. Not only was he not friendly, (something I wasn't too concerned about, as I wasn't expecting him to be chipper,) he was short with me and seemed annoyed that I was in there at all. It was this poor customer service that caused me to leave and get my nose pierced elsewhere.
I returned to Sadu about a month later, looking to get some new jewelry. The same person was behind the counter, with the same bad attitude. Again, the shop was pretty busy with people waiting to be pierced, and people interested in buying jewelry. The girl in front of me eventually got tired of waiting to look at jewelry and walked out. While waiting in line, we weren't acknowledged in any way, and once I was finally able to look at the jewelry, my questions were met with short answers and the same degree of annoyance from my first trip in. I ended up buying a piece of jewelry that needed to be bent, and had to wait to see the piercer to have it bent for me. Maybe it was just this particular day, but the staff appeared very unorganized and bickered among themselves in front of customers. The employee holding down the counter actually made a comment about not knowing what was going on to a customer. All in all, both of my experiences with the staff in the front of Sadu has been pretty negative.
The only saving grace was the professionalism of the piercer. She was friendly, fast and knowledgeable. She changed out my jewelry for me and made me feel comfortable. It's a shame that most of my time was spent with the employees in the front of Sadu. If I hadn't waited, I wouldn't have known that how great the piercer was.
If you don't mind dealing with some pretty unprofessional behavior from some of the staff members at Sadu, I'm sure the wait will be worth it to have one of their piercers take care of you. As a personal preference, however, I seek an establishment that has it all together.
