DEEELICIOUS! To be honest, I had my reservations about the whole concept - I thought the rolls were gimmicky and expected the ice cream to be frosty with lots of ice crystals. And the rolls thing kind of IS a gimmick (it doesn't really add anything to how it tastes - I'd be happy like to get their ice creams by scoops and tubs) but it wasn't icey at all! It was smooth and creamy and just the right amount of sweetness (i.e. not too sweet).
I've had the Taro with A Twist a few times now and I LOVE it. It's actually coconut and taro and the flavours go so perfectly together. It's hard to find a place in Toronto that has taro ice cream, I find (not counting Asian grocery stores) so I keep getting that despite also wanting to try the other flavours. I normally don't get the whole mochi on ice cream/froyo thing but I like it!
If I ever manage to peel myself away from taro, I'd love to try the other flavours, especially mint cookie (which is my fave B&J's flavour!).
The earl grey is also delicious - I had a bite of my friend's.
I also like how you get a little "show" to watch when you come here!
Tip: They need to defrost the pans every so often and the line will move super slowly because they will shut one of the stations down. You may want to take a peek when you arrive to see if that's the case or get some reading material if so. Or take a walk!
