My stay at the Stratosphere could only be described as regrettable, and given the additional money I paid for an upgrade I lament it in all of its disappointing particularity. I stayed at the Stratosphere from 12/21/16 to 12/23/16. If the Stratosphere was attempting to be a waterpark type themed venue, then it would be a splashing SUCCESS.
On the night of 12/22/16, this weird stuff called rain fell from the sky. Apparently, rain falls from the sky all night in some US cities. The room I upgraded too had an APPRECIABLE leak. When my girlfriend and I returned to the room at approx. 2AM, rain soaked through the window area, the carpet, much of my luggage, and was on its way to the bed.
The Stratosphere is the only hotel I have ever stayed in where the room was not waterproof or water tight. Several of the security staff members agreed that my palpable disappointment was understandable.
However, the mgmt. of the hotel has not been as helpful. I await their reply to the complaint I left with security about the room.
I would recommend picking another hotel in the desert that has a better record of staying dry.
