My group booked a karaoke room. At the end of the night, the server came out with our bill that said $183 subtotal; $225 after tip and tax. We asked the server if we could spend $20 more on food to get the offered discount (the discount: if you spend over $200 before tax, you can get a $30 discount). So he took the receipt back and disappeared. We waited for a long time for the server to come back and eventually decided that we would forget about the food and discount and just get out of there. We asked for the bill again and this time, they handed us a bill for $245 after tip and tax. We asked if this was a mistake and the response they gave us was "prove to us that your original bill said $225". Of course we couldn't because the server had taken it away. Obviously, this was a dishonest and unlawful act and we will never be going back again.
Also, our karaoke machine kept freezing all night and they had to reset it twice, taking up the time that we paid for.
