| - I've actually been to this place many times, I've just only checked-in twice. All my other times were ok, I mean it's $20/hr so I don't expect a four seasons outcome. The other times were really not that bad. My last time around, I took my BF for a Valentines Day massage.
I asked them to go softer but they didn't, it felt like they went harder. I felt more tense coming out of the massage.
And the cherry topper. Massages were $20/hr each person, which for us =$40. I gave them $60 and wanted $10 back. They fought me in saying that "it is $10 each gratuity per person"
My boyfriend and I work in the tipping industry and they should be grateful for any tips. No matter where I go, I tip at least 20% even if the service was horrible but if it was completely shitty then that's another story... $5 tip for $20 is 25% gratuity. I explained it to them that there were no signs in there that said "Automatic $10 gratuity" and that tipping is the customers choice. The lady there was furious and said "it's hard work", the guy interrupts and said "$10 tip each". Lady said "you asked him to go softer and he did softer"
Well I don't want to come off as rude but I know what hard work is and understand how hard it is for them to do this all day but if you're charging $20 and expecting a 50% tip, I'd expect you to listen to your customer (and give me a damn good happy ending! Haha jk)... I replied, as calmly as I could because I was upset that they wanted to tip themselves instead of giving my change back, I said "I told him to go softer multiple times but instead he did the opposite, you guys should be grateful I'm leaving you something. $5 is 25% gratuity" but before I even finished the guy got upset said something in Chinese, threw my $10 change back and waved bye and continued to say something in Chinese. I was about to just take my whole $20 back but it's not in me to not tip since this city is based on tips.
