| - My revised reservation amount of $497.82 (including a $200 drop off fee in Miami) on August 29, 2015 was not honored when I arrived to pick up vehicle in Charlotte. After a delayed, red-eye flight, my vehicle was not ready when I arrived and the unprofessional/rude clerk attempted to upsell me into a more expensive vehicle or wait. Your Charlotte rental office is unclean and poorly staffed with unprofessional people.
On August 30th and 31st, my wife attempted to reach customer service via telephone to correct the bill amount and was redirected to India (?) to a staff member that was uninformed and unable to correct the discrepancy in my bill amount. After making multiple attempts to reach customer service on the phone to correct the bill amount, we gave up thinking we could easily handle this when we returned the vehicle in Miami.
On September 6, 2015, I returned the vehicle to my pre-arranged drop off destination at the Miami airport. I was told by Thrifty personnel they could not process the vehicle drop-off because the vehicle came from a different location. Mind you I'm paying an additional $200 for the ability to drop off the vehicle in Miami. I was directed to Dollar Rental Car due to some merger and was told that only the Dollar management staff could process the vehicle drop off. After waiting in excess of 15 minutes, a staff person named Joe at the Dollar counter was lazy, rude and unwilling/unable to correct my incorrect bill amount. I asked to speak with a manager only to have Joe leave the counter with an attitude and return 10 minutes with no manager and no solution to my billing problem. Joe simply blamed all of Thrifty's billing problems on the Charlotte office.
In addition to the billing problem, Thrifty neglected to inform me of toll charges in Miami and the ability to prepay for these toll charges. Considering I planned this business trip in advance (including the drop off in Miami), I should have been advised of my ability to prepay the toll charges to avoid the usurious service penalties.
