  • Warning to US purchasers. Do not indicate you are an American when buying a ticket on thier website or Porter will slap you with both American and Canadian taxes. I told them there were no US taxes on their flight from Montreal to Toronto but they wouldn't budge and argued: Americans must always pay American taxes, they are required to charge American taxes on flights in cities within 250 miles of the US border, that I should seek a refund from the IRS, etc. Fly West Jet instead. They don't (incorrectly) charge such US taxes on flights solely within Canada. Nor should they.
