Escape the city while still in the city! Evergreen is a wooded area with a network of easy to walk trails. The newly built Norland Loop trail is .25 miles and paved, which makes it accessible. The loop branches off and trails connect to Sheffield Park where there are basketball courts, tennis courts, a playground, and shelters.
The truly bad thing though is parking -- there is none. Park services has gated the parking lot at Norland and will only unlock the gate if someone reserves the shelter, which makes no dang sense at all. There's no parking at Sheffield Park either aside from street parking and yet there are no parking signs all along the stretch of road closest to the park entrance. Why build a park and make it hard to use?
