| - While in Montreal, I made it a priority to try out some high-quality, authentic local food. It was tricky to get a reservation here, and my fiancé and I ended up with a slot at 10 PM on a Sunday. We arrived about a half hour early and were seated immediately, but the place was hopping, and it was still super busy by the time we left around 11 PM! It had a fun and nicely-decorated, but not too pretentious, atmosphere.
I'm torn here between 3 and 4 stars. We ordered the poutine (and some drinks) to start off with, and it was definitely tasty. I then decided to get the foie gras nigiris as my entrée, even though they were listed with the appetizers and therefore came out pretty quickly. Such an amazing, delicious dish! Our experience declined a bit after this--my fiancé ordered the chicken, and we waited about 45 additional minutes for this to come out, with no acknowledgement from the wait staff. (Otherwise, the service was pretty good--the staff members were kind, and they were prompt in bringing out silverware, refilling our drinks, etc.) When the chicken did come, he said that it was decent but nothing amazing.
TL;DR: Excellent foie gras nigiris, lively atmosphere, but the service could have been better. I would be willing to give this place another try but wasn't blown away, especially for the price.
