CAESARS PALACE SWEEPSTAKES WINNER ADVENTURE #3: FREE DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
One my second day at Las Vegas I had two appointments to apply the spa credit I received as sweepstakes winner. The first was COLOR Salon by Michael Boychuck. The second was at Qua Baths & Spa for a body massage. After my haircut at COLOR I had about 2 hours before my appointment at Qua Baths and Spa. Prior to booking my vacation for Vegas I looked online at Qua Baths & Spa. I already knew what kind of massage I wanted. The massage I usually get is deep tissue because I work in an office setting where my shoulders are hunched at times while I'm typing on the keyboards. In addition I like deep tissue because of the treatment to sooth the tightness of my legs. The massage I wanted at Qua Baths and Spa was deep tissue massage for 80 minutes. Usually I get deep tissue massages for 1 hour but I wanted to max out the spa credit. The person at Caesars Entertainment who was setting up my itinerary at Caesars Palace set up the 80-minute deep tissue massage session for me.
Once you walk inside the halls of Qua Baths & Spa you noticed the serenity is especially with the fountain-like well structure. In the locker room there's refreshments such as water and tea. When I went to my room where I was going to have the massage the masseuse asked me the areas that I needed work on. I stated my calves, hamstrings, quads, IT bands, and trapezoids. I think she got the impression to work mostly on my legs and that is my fault. Instead of generalizing every area of my legs I should've have been more specific by saying IT bands and trapezoids are the two areas that need mostly work on. By limiting to those two areas I believe there would be a balance between the lower and upper body during my massage session. During this session my masseuse worked mostly on my legs. When it comes to massages my legs are very sensitive especially the IT bands where my masseuse was using her elbows digging in on the side of my quads. The massage at times was soothing because I was snoring. Overall very little work was done on my upper body especially the shoulders and trapezoids. I felt there was a void.
I was originally going to rate Qua Baths & Spa 4 stars because the deep tissue massage wasn't the best I ever had due to the lack of work on my upper body. However I noticed a several things a couple of days after the massage. First my legs didn't feel knotted as before my trip. That was probably due to my masseuse working on my IT bands. I also noticed that the area around my knees didn't feel heavy. Second when I came back to work after vacation my boss noticed how relaxed I was. Despite having some misgivings about Qua Baths & Spa initially the 80-minute deep tissue massage ended up as a great session.
The massages at Qua Baths & Spa are really expensive. My suggestion is that if you have an appointment there be specific with your masseuse and limit to two or three areas that you need to work on. Your time and money at Qua Baths & Spa are precious. I was fortunate that I had a free massage. I'll say this the 80-minute deep tissue massage at Qua Baths & Spa is the best massage I ever had at a hotel casino resort.
