My goodness! The tides are shifting and they're shifting fast. I'm sad to see some familiar faces leaving PRLR, but I have hope for the fresh crop.
I can't say that I had the greatest evening of my life tonight with the new staff, although that could be due to my own resistance to change. I'm not particularly fond of the new "hi-balls" section of the menu, it makes the place feel dingy and cheap. The quality of the food has also changed; it's definitely not as well done as it used to be- but I'm reserving my judgements. Overall, PRLR isn't ruined and there are a lot of great things happening. Their cocktail menu (albeit shorter) is still very good, and the staff has made changes to the menu to mitigate allergy concerns.
I want to continue to love PRLR, but as it turns out, I never went for the drinks. I went for the people who always made me feel so at home. I can only hope that the new staff continues to bring this same comfort to Kensington.
