My husband and I made an appointment for today at lunch at 12:30pm for a consultation, when we were on the phone on the receptionist I asked how long the appointment should take and she let me know to expect about 1 hour.
I was a little skeptical and weary of the travel clinic so we went to our family doctor a few weeks ahead of time and she had us run blood work to see if we needed both Hep A and Hep B or if we didn't need either. She let me know we had Hep B but would need Hep A, she offered to administer the Help A for us.
We arrived a few minutes before 12:30pm today and filled out the necessary paperwork. Let me first say the clinic is pretty dingy looking and dark, I was kinda put off. After we finished the paperwork we had to wait for 30 minutes! I was getting anxious because I had to get back to work. At 1pm we were called in and had a consultation with the doctor. The doctor was incredibly nice and very well informed and knew exactly about the areas we were going to. He wasn't pushy at all and left everything up to us. We told him we only needed Hep A and he advised Typhoid is quite important also and that there is a combination shot with Hep A and Typhoid so we decided to just get it done here. The injection was fairly painless, however, it did start to feel a little funny throughout the day but not really any pain. The consultation fee was $40 each and then the cost of the vaccinations, the prices are listed on their website.
We were out of the office by 1:20ish so under the hour the receptionist told me. All in all, I was really happy with our experience and would highly recommend the Travel Medicine Centre.
