  • Pet Health Hospital has recently taken over for caring for all the pugs at Pug Rescue here in Vegas and everyone I know has been raving about the excellent care Dr B and his staff has been providing. Naturally as a foster mom and volunteer for Pug Rescue, I knew when it was time for my own pug to go to the vet we would eventually come see Dr B. We had our chance to come see Dr B last week and we had a great experience. Primarily we came in for a relative minor issue but also for a second opinion for a dental. Once we were there, we were greeted warmly by the staff and during our exam Dr B took his time and was very informative, not only about the issue we came to see him for, but other concerns I had as well. I had been going to another old school vet whom I really like but didn't have to capacity for dental xrays and all the monitoring it would take for a dental on my senior pug so he did not feel comfortable performing a dental. He did tell me what to look for if I had decided to want to get another opinion. He informed me about the importance of dental xrays since just cleaning and polishing what you can see isn't always the best approach if there are underlying issues that you can not see. Never in all the years my pug has been getting dentals did she ever get an xray and now I felt like she had been getting subpar care. Dr B met all the criteria my other vet told me to look for and put my mind at ease in the approach he would take during the procedure. Our visit and conversation told me that Dr B not only had all the state of the art equipment but also the knowledge and know how to perform the procedure safely. Our estimate was also reasonable since it included bloodwork, xrays and the cleaning. As an ICU nurse, I am very wary about unnecessary procedures since many times it serves no benefit or does more harm than good and I ask for a lot of details when it comes to treatment since human and animal medicine at times are very similar. In visiting with Dr B for the first time, I was really impressed by knowledge, patience and kindness and I do not impress easily! Last but not least I was able to tour the rest of the facility and the boarding area. Everything was new, clean and beautiful. The boarding area was also very quiet and seemed really peaceful. As much as I hate boarding my babies, sometimes it is unavoidable and I would feel comfortable leaving my babies at Pet Health.
