  • The Hillside Spot has so much potential, but management or owners are letting service fall through the cracks. The hipster staff could be excellent, but they need much better management. An employee told us that it was "seat yourself" so the three of us found a table in the center of the restaurant. We sat there for 20-30 minutes and no one stopped by our table. We finally had to flag a random server down. They really shouldn't have a "seat yourself" policy if they can't keep an eye on things. We met here because Hillside is one of the few places open early. The chilaquiles were nice and crunchy. The green chili flavor was great. The croque madam was also well made. The bacon was pretty basic. The hashbrowns were only slightly crispy, but I'm glad they were overly greasy. I love the look and design of the restaurant. The bar is cute. The selection of local and craft beers is awesome. This could be an excellent restaurant, but they need to re-train everyone.
