  • My new job I started in January requires me to be on my feet in dress shoes all day long. Little to no sitting down for 10 hours a day. Finally, after trying every home remedy I could think of for soothing my aching feet, I decided to research my first ever paid foot massage, and boy I'm glad I did. I spent a couple hours pouring through Yelp reviews of various foot spa places. I had narrowed it down to Best Foot Spa and The Foot Spa, both of which offered Yelp deals and both were very affordable (less than $30 for 1 hour). I was mainly interested in strictly a foot massage, versus shoulder and full body. Finally, I decided to go with The Foot Spa, in Chinatown. Just west of Decatur on Spring Mountain in the back of a pretty busy strip mall, next to Jack in the Box. I mainly chose this one over the other due to distance. It was closer than Best Foot Spa (I was coming from the Northwest) and I liked the Yelp deal of $20/1 hour. When I parked and walked in, I was immediately greeted by a nice Asian man that asked me what I was interested in. The Yelp deal is posted on the wall, no need to show it or mention it. I was offered either $20 for foot massage that includes neck, shoulder, and back, but concentrated mainly on feet, or a $32 one that includes feet but focuses more on deep tissue full body. I went with the $20 deal and it was quite possibly the best $20 I've spent. I was escorted to a private room and offered water. My feet were placed in a warm water bath and Linda came in and said hello. She started with a scalp and shoulder massage which was awesome. She asked if soft or hard and I requested the latter, and she well delivered. We spoke very little in the hour 10 minutes I was there. Very friendly though and I wasn't interested in chatting. After the head and shoulder she stepped out and came back with oil and lotion for my feet and legs. I kept clothes on the entire time (golf shirt and shorts, with flip flops). The foot massage was incredible. She felt out areas of hardness and pressure points and soothingly rubbed each section of each foot. She spent a good 25 min on each foot and I literally felt like I was walking on legs made of butter afterwards. I settled the bill and tipped $10 for $30 total. Linda was awesome and I strongly recommend her. When I walked out of my private room, the main area was packed. It was empty when I got there around 2pm on Sunday, August 9. They are open until midnight and no reservations are necessary. I was given a card for a free massage after my 10th. I anticipate getting that card filled by the end of the year, easily. Great value and a soothing, wonderful experience.
