  • Part idiot and part scam artist. Called him to replace a pressure reduction valve. He immediately gets 'distracted' by the water heater system on the other side of the basement, which isn't up to the most current code. Claims he can't fix the PRV without bringing the entire water heating system up to code. Quotes me $400. When I protest, he calls 'Flazell' on his cell phone with the 'city health department.' We are in the borough. The borough doesn't have a health department. Neither does any other city or municipality in Allegheny County. Furthermore 'health departments' do no enforce building codes. Scam. After he left I bought a PRV and installed it myself. $65 for the part, four twists of my wrist and a $335 savings.
