| - My boyfriend and I decided to grab dessert after dinner one Saturday night. I asked him if he was up for trying the new craze black ice cream. He agreed, even though he's not a fan of sweets but was more so curious about the taste of it.
We arrived there around 10pm and of course the line up stretched out close to the traffic lights. But we were still determined to line up, and wait for our treats. While waiting in line, we were offered water bottles by the kind workers at iHalo Krunch.
After an hour wait and getting bitten alive by mosquitoes, we made it inside :) we both ordered the ube nut - which is a mix of ube and charcoal. While watching the guy preparing our ice cream, he started off by putting what I believe was a bit of thick cream inside the bottom tip of the cone to prevent the ice cream from dripping through (clever idea!) Then came the ice cream, he twirled it around and around, and handed us the most perfect looking ice cream cones ever!
The charcoal ice cream tasted like regular vanilla ice cream to us, and the ube tasted exactly like purple yam (which I love!).
Overall, we enjoyed our ice cream very much and would recommend it for everyone to try, however we did find it a tad bit expensive at $6.50. Also, on a side note, not be alarmed but when you eat the charcoal ice cream, it may also come out in the same colour when you go number 2. Did anyone else experience this ?!
