| - I contacted this caterer as potential vendor for my wedding. She responded quickly (within 1 day) of my original inquiry and asked for me to fill out a wedding questionnaire that surveyed all potential needs for including catering and planning services (dj, flowers, videographer, invites, officiant, hotel arrangements, etc) and personal information about you and your fiancé. Although these comprehensive services are appealing, I personally only needed a caterer and it seems as though Emily's Events will not acknowledge your inquiry if you don't need multiple services. She also required to estimate your budget in this questionnaire suggesting that they can accommodate different budgets and put together a menu within my allowance.
Quote from questionnaire .."I do not see the sense in wasting your time proposing a menu that is either grossly over, or under, your budget...if it something we need to talk further about that is ok..."
As a prospective client this seems promising. However, once I submitted the questionnaire I never received a follow up email. After two weeks, I wrote a follow up email noting that the questionnaire was completed. Still no response 4 days later after my second email. To me, that seems like she reviewed my questionnaire, decided I didn't have enough services needed, that my budget was not worth their time, worthy of a response, or that I have a "low income" status.
I respect that vendors have the right to select their clients, but a courteous business practice should have included an email notifying me of this. In addition, she should not have falsely implied in her questionnaire that she is open and flexible to various client needs and budgets.
