  • A zero star rating if it was possible. I am currently renting a home in Las Sendas that is managed by Bennett Properties. We have been in in for one month and NOTHING but a dishwasher being plugged in by a plumber who refused to do any other plumbing work has been done. Two days before moving in our agent Kim Tracy said that her cleaners found a leak under the sink, so for the first week we were in our home we had fans blowing and since then a man came to remove the fans but no work to fix the problem has been done. The ironic thing is the home was vacant for one month prior to us moving in so they would have had time to make all the repairs necessary. We were told the house was cleaned two days before moving in, but there was dust every where, dirty floors, dishes left in the nasty dirty dishwasher, crumbs in the drawers, bugs everywhere (alive, as though there had been no pest control prior to us moving in), fire alarms hanging off the ceiling, fan blades hanging by one screw, closet doors falling off when you moved them and the list goes on. I have NEVER experienced anything like this. I have called the management office and my agent's phone number almost every day and nothing is getting done. I also typed up a 3 page single spaced document that had all of the things wrong with the house the first week we lived there and NOTHING has been taken care of. The worst is the toilette seat in the master bath has a crack in it and it is padded. I am not sure how the agent thought the house was prepared for move in with that sort of an obvious repair needed. A screen is hanging off the side of the house and she claims it "just happened". The Las Sendas Association confirmed that it has been there for a while. All around, the worst property manager I have ever experienced, and my husband has been in the business for 18 years. If I was looking to rent I would AVOID this company like the plague. You will NEVER get anything fixed or repaired. Save your time and find another home with another management company. I have reached out to the main office as well as my agent and no one seems competent or willing to fix anything. Disappointing! . UPDATE... The "leak" that had just happened prior to us moving in was a bigger problem then they thought. I found mold behind the dishwasher. My kids had been sick since moving in, like allergy sickness, and I thought there was something to the house. Fortunately we were able to get all our security deposit back and moved out as quickly as I could find a new home. Bennett Properties was very slow to coordinate the mold repair people and contractor and only offered to return our security deposit after I mentioned I had talked to a lawyer. Needless to say, we have avoided a disaster and moved out. NEVER RENT A HOUSE MANAGED BY BENNETT PROPERTIES. They are slum lords.
