| - Before heading up to the top of Mt. Washington via the funicular railway, we stopped here for lunch. I was a little put-off by the maitre'd because he looked like he didn't give a crap about the fact that we were there.
The menu looked very reasonable, particularly for lunch food. I was in the mood for a nice sandwich, and they had several on the menu that looked good. I ordered the "Fishwich," and about fifteen or twenty minutes later the waitress brought our meals out. After my first bite, I realized that the "Fishwich" she had brought me was in fact some sort of new breed of fish that tastes, feels, and weighs exactly as much as chicken. Yeah, so she f-ed up the order and brought me the wrong sandwich. When she got the order right, the Fishwich was actually really tasty. The fries were good, and the cole slaw was really crappy.
One of my friends ordered the Salmon Burger, which was pretty terrible. The spicy rub they coated the ground salmon burger (NOT a salmon filet!) with was WAY TOO salty. Like kind of disgustingly so. A couple people ordered the black bean soup and they said it was really good, and one girl said her clam chowder (New England-style; creamy) was tasty.
Sitting outside was really pretty nice, and I'd definitely recommend it if the weather's nice. If Jenny is your server, make sure she brings you the version of the Fishwich that actually is made of fish.
