| - I came here in September. I had a pick-up order and I stayed for about a half hour talking to the owner (Amer) and a young woman behind the counter (I never got her name). They were both extremely friendly, helpful, and hilarious.
I was given some samples to nom on:
* Amazing coconut covered chocolate ball - not too sweet and a great texture. Addictive. They should be called crack balls.
* Baklava - one of the best I've had.
* Homemade lemonade - minty and refreshing, and not too sweet. Delicious.
I took home a chicken shawarma plate, gyro plate, lentil rice, lentil soup, homemade pita, and a lemonade.
The plates came with a little side salad and hummus. The salad was fresh and had what tasted like an italian dressing on it. The hummus was good but there was something missing - it could use more cumin and/or garlic.
I was a bit underwhelmed by the shawarma plate because the seasonings didn't stand out to me and the chicken was a bit dry. The gyro plate made up for it though, since that beast was very flavorful.
The lentil soup was tasty and nicely seasoned (salty soups are the bane of my existence) but the texture was off for me - it was as if the soup was made of lentil powder and was "scratchy". My fiancé loved it, however. Go figure.
The lentil rice was delicious. I love lentils and I love rice, so when you throw them together, it can't help but be delicious.
Overall, great little hole-in-the-wall, fantastic ownership and customer service, and good food.
