  • Safe lite use to be the best auto glass company to trust. In the last few years their customer service and repair or replacement service has gone downhill. A few years ago we had our Jeep Grand Cherokee windshield replaced. My husband wasn't at home to supervise and what do I know about it? Well the guy took over two hours to install, didn't have the right equipment and had to go back for some kind of tool, returned and took another hour.... Later when my husband came home he said it was a not done very well around the seal. Never bothered to call them to get it redone. One year ago we were two days away from a vacation when we needed our windshield replaced. Called safe lite again because my husband had always heard good things about them, despite the previous interaction with them, and decided to call them. Well they said it would be two hundred and sixty dollars...claimed we did not have glass coverage on our insurance. We called our insurance and sure enough the insurance agent had forgot to put that on our contract. So it was our...or his error. Wouldn't be able to get it done till the day we were leaving for vacation so said fine, leave it till we return. Meanwhile they had asked for all this information about how he damage was done, where it was done,meat time of day it was done, on what street and where were we going at that time and why?! They said oh we will put this in our computer and when you call again, we can have it ready. Now we have glass coverage and have had it for over a year and still need to replace the windshield. Called safe lite and guess what,,, they quoted us the same two hundred and sixty dollars as before and said we didn't have glass coverage. We told them we did. They said well that is how much it is going to be. We said fine. Later.... Obviously this company has a nice little shell game going where they try to get you to pay for a windshield when you have glass coverage and no deductible. We called the insurance agent and he is sending us somewhere else that will come out the next day and replace it...free. Thanks safe lite for reminding me how a nice good business from years past can turn into a greedy, rude, sloppy company. Will never do business with them again and will let everyone I know about it.
