$5.50 for a movie on Tuesdays and Thursdays...now that's what I'm talking about!!!
We are staying at the Westin and there are literally 2 high end movie theaters down the street but the frugal deal loving Asians that my group and I are found this place 20 minutes away.
With all the fancy movie theaters nowadays that offer reclined seats that allow you to practically lie down and offer you blankets and serve a gourmet $25 meal right to your seat is appealing and all but when you've got three kiddos under the age of 5 and a baby you go for the road less traveled and this place was perfect.
First of all we parked right in front of the theater and we knew it was going to be sweet. It's still nicer than many theaters that I'm used to: beautiful Italian style decor inside the lobby, Dbox, a wine bar, and you know those preview posters that are usually everywhere, here they play the previews on the poster style screens so you don't just see an image you get a 30 second clip.
We watched Disney's Planes and literally had the entire theater to ourselves. I was thrilled our kids could laugh freely and clap loudly without any concern. The theater was small but had great leather seats that reclined well and I noticed at the end of each row there was seat numbers lit up. I also noticed art work throughout the walls. Nice touch. Before the movie started a young man came out and welcomed us to the movies and reminded us we were there for Planes and to enjoy the show. Wow...that was impressive.
Happy we enjoyed our own theater but sad this place was so empty. Even the shell of what used to be a yogurtland next door is gone. This place must be hurting, especially on weekdays. I wish there was a theater like this near my home because I would frequent the theater again. When in town we would definitely return! Way to do it right Ultra Star...I'm a fan!
