  • I recently stayed at the Staybridge Suites for the second time with my fiance's family - this time for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. It offers just what our group of 5 adults needs for far less than a hotel: clean suites with just enough beds (once we pay for a cot) for us, plus tvs in each room (3 for us), free WiFi, a kitchenette with a refrigerator so that I can bring my own breakfast and snack items, gym and laundry facilities, complimentary breakfast downstairs and coffee and tea service available ALL DAY. The one bad aspect of these rooms is the fact that, either the walls are really thin, or the way the ducts work means that you can hear EVERYTHING being said in the other suite rooms. The breakfast can be really hit or miss, but that mostly depends upon what hot food items they offer (which is why I just bring my own Greek yogurt and fruit). Fruit is always cantaloupe (sometimes gross), pineapple, and apples. Buffet items always include: light n fit yogurt, activia, cottage cheese, hard boiled eggs, milk (variety), cereals, breakfast pastries, jams and peanut butter, toast, bagels, make your own waffles, and oatmeal with raisins, granola, and brown sugar. The coffee is actually quite good, but the tea has taken a dive and is mostly just Lipton. But 3 days a week they do offer a Happy Hour with some food, red and white wine, and beer on tap - not too shabby! The gym is...pathetic. But it gets the job done if you know what you're doing. Very old machines: two treadmills, one weird elliptical-like thing, and a stationary bike, plus a few weight machines and a set of dumbbells from 5 to 50 lbs. The tv, water fountain, and towels are much appreciated - but boy does it get cold in there during the winter! Haven't used the laundry machines, but they're connected to the gym and it looks like at least two washers and dryers. In terms of the staff, it might just depend on the day and what their mood is, but they're mostly nice and helpful if you need something. On a bad day, the looks you can get from some of them could kill. All in all, not a bad deal - way cheaper than if we got two hotel rooms, and definitely a good place to stay if you need to room for a long period of time.
