  • Sadly, my awesome cleaner no longer works for Homejoy. I've gone through about 4 or 5 different cleaners since my last review. Shortly after my 3 month membership for the Forever Clean I was sent an email from the company telling me that the Forever Clean Membership was being discontinued, but I could still see them offering the membership on Groupon! WTH?? One scheduled cleaning got "lost" and no one ever showed up. You are supposed to get an email confirming your upcoming appointment with a picture of your cleaner. I just let it go and called up to verify my recurring appointments were still there...nope....all lost again. SO, here we go, setting it all up again with yet a different "account manager" and one more time, I didn't get the email, so I called...they didn't have a cleaner available for my SCHEDULED appointment and said they had put it "up for bid" to see if any cleaners would take it. They then asked me if I'd consider rescheduling for days that were not compatible with my schedule. That's the whole reason I set up recurring appointments in the first place. I told them to forget it and was offered a free cleaning next time. Like I a dummy, I fell for it. She BROKE my shark floor steamer and didn't tell me! Homejoy took my claim and sent me a brand new one. That is the only positive thing I can say about this company. I don't know if they pay their cleaners low wages or what, they seem to have a very high turnover rate and you end up getting different cleaners each time. Each subsequent cleaner has been slower than the one previously and the last one...just flat out did a terrible job. There is no continuity and frankly, I'm not comfortable opening my house up to strangers ever two weeks. .
