| - David's Bridal was a HUGE disappointment! The selection was okay, but the service was absolutely abysmal!
I called in advance to try to make an appointment for 3:30 on a Friday afternoon and was told that they only had 3pm available. That was fine; I rushed through my day to ensure that I would get there by 2:50pm. I arrived at the same time as another lady who also had an appointment for 3pm. We filled out our paperwork separately and the welcome desk lady paged for one consultant. I was confused as to why she paged for one consultant when there were two of us, but didn't think anything of it. Her consultant came within 5mins while I waited for another half an hour for mine!! By the time I started my appointment, it was 3:30 which was the time I wanted in the first place!! When I brought this up to the lady at the welcome desk, she wasn't apologetic at all and just commented on how all appointments start on the hour. Well, it would've been nice if it ACTUALLY started on the hour!!
Anyway, I wasn't going to let that ruin this experience for me. I was there to try on bridal gowns with my mom, and she was trying on mother of the bride dresses. The consultant who was helping me was nice, but she was also helping 2 other people at once. I didn't get a room like I thought I would, nor the attention that I expected from a supposedly famous establishment. She didn't explain the store layout to me or where I should look to find the type of dress that I want. I had to kind of scavenge for myself. However, she did help me clip my dresses and provided me with shoes to try on with the dresses. She also presented me with some dresses based on my preference which I appreciate. They had a good selection of mother of the bride dresses so my mom found a few that she liked.
This entire time, I heard other girls who work there complain about how they were understaffed amongst other things. They didn't seem to care that this was supposed to be a fun and exciting experience for the brides in the store - they just wanted to complain loudly to their colleagues. There was a lot of negativity coming from the staff at the store.
After about an hour, my consultant had to leave for the day and we said our goodbyes. Another lady was supposed to help me out after and this was when things got worse. This new lady didn't pay me ANY attention at all. She didn't help me or my mom find dresses or even ASK us how we were doing. She was just helping another bride with her appointment. I went out to look for dresses on my own and had to asked her if I can try it on and she seemed surprised that I was still there! I came out of the fitting room in a size 14 dress (I'm a size 2) and she didn't help me clip the dress or offer ANY assistance. At this point a lot of the customers had left already so many of the girls were free. NONE OF THEM offered to help - they were just cleaning the store, putting dresses away, fixing hangers, making the store look pretty, chatting, etc. What is more important?! Putting dresses away, or helping out a potential customer?! It doesn't matter how nice the store looks if this is the service that you get.
I was so frustrated and disappointed that I decided to leave. No one said goodbye to me even though there were 2 girls at the welcome desk chatting. No one asked me how everything went. No one paid any attention to me. It was like my mom and I were invisible.
I would NOT recommend this store to anyone. Even if I had found something that I liked, I would NOT spend my money here because the service was just HORRIBLE!! Imagine having to deal with them for fittings etc. I thought it was just me who had a bad experience, but looking at the reviews here, it looks like I'm not alone.
David's Bridal successfully ruined what was supposed to be a fun, magical, and exciting experience for me and my mom. I'd give it 0 stars if I could.
