Nope. No thank you.......
Ambiance: The restaurant itself it cool - modern feel, groovy lighting, and located in a pocket of town that seriously needs an upscale place.
Service: Mediocre (at best). Not impressed when I ask the waiter to recommend his favorite dish...and he immediately responds "the Tomahawk Steak." Uhm...you mean the $89 Tomahawk Steak? I'm good.
Food: Nothing on the menu looked particularly interesting. Went with the Butcher's Steak. MEH.... Pretty tough and flavorless, plopped on top of some barely-identifiable, mushy veggies. The potatoes, again - soft and lacking in flavor. The tomato jam/sauce was one dimensional in flavor - sweet. Come one guys...add some heat or salt to the flavor profile.
For the same price, I could have had the super-yummy Hawaiian Ribeye from Hillstone...always a great steak, great flavor, cooked exactly as requested. Yum!
This place seems to have an identity crisis. It feels as if an attempt to replicate Houstons/Hillstone/Grassroots....but falls short.
The Yelp reviews are pretty all-over-the-place. Seems like this might be an okay spot for Happy Hour - for dinner, I'd pass.
Cheers!
POSTSCRIPT: My dog would like to report that she found the leftover steak to be quite delicious and succulent. Four paws up!
