My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Venetian for a weekend getaway. Our suite was located on the 27th floor. Check-in was easy and the staff at check-in were polite. I was surprised by the quality of the room however. The suite was beautiful and the view was incredible. But several items in the room didn't work. Even though there was a flat screen located in the large restroom, it wasn't connected. The large plasma in the bedroom didn't work either. Granted, I wasn't in Vegas to watch TV, But if you're paying for a suite, you expect to get what you pay for.
We went to a sushi place located within the VenetianPolazzo complex, and even though it wasn't crowded, the hostess insisted sitting us at a table rather than a booth. I looked around and other customers were sitting in booths. This place was called Sushi Samba. We decided to leave and find something elsewhere. We discovered some delicious Chinese food at "Noodle Asia" located within the Venetian.
When we checked out of our room at the Venetian, I discovered that my girlfriend left my I-Phone charger in our hotel room after we checked out. I called the Venetian and asked for lost and found and was connected to an answering machine. When a Venetian rep returned my call hours later, I explained to her that the charger was left behind in the room. She told me she would check with the housekeeping staff and return a call to me. That phone call never came.. My feeling of the Venetian was like most of Vegas- illusions of wealth built around flash and glitz. Money is king but hospitatility and customer service is secondary. Especially at the Venetian (and Polazzo).
