Dinner for two was an ok, decent experience but at the price and with all the other steak house options in Vegas, I wouldn't go back. Everything was a little underwhelming. Nothing was terrible but nothing was amazing either. Bloody mary's were insipid, like tomato juice with a dash of tabasco. First appetizers were Lobster bisque with Israeli couscous and the scallops. The Bisque was very good, rich full flavor but the couscous was at best a distraction. It didn't add anything good to the soup. One scallop was amazing. It had a deep heavy char and full rich flavor. The other scallop was ok but not nearly as charred or as good as the other. Had the one not been so good, the other would have probably been fine. You could not look at the plate and not notice the glaring difference in how the two were cooked, but it was still delivered to me mis matched. We split a caesar salad. It was good but way over dressed. The croutons were seasoned with paprika and distracted more than they complimented. Too much cheese too. Steaks have an odd crust. It's good and tasty but not what I expect on a quality dry aged steak. Felt like camouflage. It just wasn't for me. Also, the steak was not evenly cooked. One end was a little more done than the other. Au Poivre sauce was rich and tasty. The NY Strip Oscar was good but a little undercooked, the crab portion generous and well executed. Sides really bothered me. Truffled creamed spinach and Potatoes Romanoff were just so over the top that the the main ingredients were totally lost. The spinach could easily have been any leafy vegetable or even news paper. It was just a thick rich gooey overload of cream and truffle overkill. Same problem with the potatoes. Just too much cheese. It was cheese on cheese on cheese covered with melted cheese. The famous 20some layer chocolate cake looked amazing and the very top layer of chocolate was really good. Otherwise it was dry and heavy. It's a giant slice for 2 or more people to easily share but it's not good cake at all. It's a lot like one of the giant cake monstrosities at Cheesecake Factory or a similar chain. The wine was excellent. They have a "bucket list" of wines by the glass that I plan on returning for but I'll just have that at the bar. I don't think I'd eat there again. I do get the whole steak house experience and LOVE a decadent over the top meal but they lost track of flavor and balance along the way.
