  • This was our second time visiting Buddy V's. The first time I came was about a year ago with several other couples on an adult trip. We celebrated a friend's birthday and we had the most amazing experience and an extremely attentive waiter. Our waiter completely took care of us with a flat rate per person and an unending amount of food, all of which was incredible. We enjoyed it so much that we've been planning for the past year to come back and bring our children so they could experience it for themselves. On Friday evening, April 7, 2017, we had the opportunity to bring our children, however the experience fell short of what we'd been long anticipating. In town for a volleyball tournament, our first Vegas dinner was at Buddy V's. We had a party of 8 and were celebrating birthdays for two of the girls in the group. Upon initially sitting down at the table, I placed my purse on the back of the chair, as I do in every restaurant. I pulled the chair out to sit down and as I sat, I fell completely on the floor as the chair had tipped over. My purse is not THAT heavy, but rather the chairs are incredibly lightweight and not durable. The waiter attempted to help me up but made no offer to get me ice or to notify management. He did ask if I was okay, but due to the embarrassment and humiliation of falling down in front of other patrons, I quickly said yes, even though my elbow was hurting. Leaving the restaurant that night my right elbow hurt. Saturday morning I noticed my right elbow was bruised in addition to another bruise on the back of my left arm. With regard to the meal, my daughters ordered off the Dinner Prix Fixe menu where you get a salad, an entree, and a dessert for $40. The girls split their meal. When the bill came, our girls had been charged for each item they ordered according to the a la carte menu pricing, instead of the Dinner Prix Fixe menu and it was added to the other party's ticket instead of our own. The waiter also expressed displeasure with having to split the bill for the table into two separate tickets, which should not have been shared with us. We asked the waiter toward the end of the meal if they could sing to the girls for their birthdays and he notified us that they don't sing. He offered instead to bring each of the girls a birthday cannoli. What he failed to mention, however is that there would be an additional charge. I would not have minded had he mentioned that before bringing the desserts out but rather I discovered the additional charge when I got my bill. Feeling dissatisfied with our overall experience, I decided on Saturday evening to write this Yelp review but wanted in all fairness to first call the restaurant and speak with the General Manager to let her know of our experience. I called at approximately 6:30--not the most ideal time to call, which I acknowledged but I felt it needed to be addressed before anymore time had passed. She told me that anytime a customer falls in the restaurant, she is to be notified. She mentioned she was there on Friday evening when I fell and no one made mention of my fall to her. She asked for my email address and told me that the next time we were in Vegas just to email her and she would take care of everything. It is now Sunday at 11:15 a.m. and I've not received an email or phone call from her. Incredibly disappointing, especially with all the hype I've given to Buddy V's in anticipation of this trip. We will be looking for a new location for Italian cuisine on future visits to Vegas.
