Ocean Club is expensive, flashy and some say a "must-do" in Scottsdale. We found it expensive & flashy but a "MUST DON'T!" Try someplace else your money is too precious to waste here. Everything from wine to food was wrong but all served with a smile. We started with oysters Rockefeller. This old school dish should be warm, bathed lightly in spinach and cheese & above all succulent. These were flat out over cooked. The oysters were rubbery and the cheese was bone dry & crispy. All-in-all the major components were flavorless. The predominate flavor was bacon. Hence, we never eat "Bacons Rockefeller" again. The salads were unevenly dressed so that the top was tasty & the bottom swimming in globules of dressing. As for the main courses, my wife's lemon sole was ok but my Artic char was over done and mealy. Moreover, the restaurant seems to be afraid of their products so they default to butter or bacon for flavor in all the dishes we had. Finally, the wine service failed. My wife asked if their Chenin Blanc was dry "oh yes," replied the server. Wrong - it was sweeter version of this Loire varietal fortunately they switched easily. Then with our bottle of wine it took 3 tries to get it right and they failed there. They first presented the wrong vintage (not the one represented in the wine list); then they tried to offer a bottle $100 more than requested. They and we settled on wine from a different vineyard and vintage. They at first wanted to charge us $60 more for the bottle to match what I asked for, but adjusted when I pointed out the discrepancy. Again don't go
