  • To save someone else the trouble I went through- I had a root canal here 18 months ago, and the crown broke in half 3 days ago after no unusual circumstance or pressure.. I made an appointment to have it assessed and hopefully replaced under warranty considering I had spent nearly 2k on the original procedure. I was seen by a receptionist who took my insurance info and said they would need to take xrays. The assistant started taking my xrays, while the receptionist came back and forth into my room with different information each time, also while whispering to other people behind me in between. It seemed like nobody knew what they were doing. At one point she said, "let me ask someone who's been here the longest" ..and left again. When I asked about why the tooth would break and if I could see the same doctor who did it, she said he didn't work there anymore. Pretty concerning. Ultimately, I was told my crown would not be replaced under warranty because I had not been a regular patient. I was originally told my insurance would cover it, and then told it would not, and the total cost would be $900 just for the crown replacement, not including exam fees/xrays etc. I declined, mentioning I have a regular dentist but returned to High-Tech only because I assumed their doctors would stand behind their work and replace a crown that had broken only 18 months later. I saw my regular dentist the next day and he was quite concerned with my experience. He looked at my crown and knew right away it was done on CAD/CAM (a 3D printer), which he explained is done on site and not under standards of a laboratory- and also not covered by lab warranty, which is 5 years for any porcelain crown. My dentist took care of me and for much much less than High-Tech had quoted me, and more importantly gave me information and dental work I can trust. High-Tech's high turnover doctors did faulty work and scammed money out me, which seems like a common occurrence there, judging by their flashy massage chairs and charging stations and other gimmicky office bait.. Ask questions wherever you go, but avoid this place if you're looking for a dentist you can trust.
