  • I like the Steepery, and their partner outfit, TeaGarden (I used to frequent their shop when I spent more time up in the Twin Cities.) Like any place, there are pros and cons; it all depends on what you're going for. I enjoy the variety of drinks they have available - teas, smoothies, and the multitude of flavorings, bubbles, and jellies you can mix together to make your own unique creation. I get mine light on the ice so I don't have to go boba hunting when I'm finished with my drink. As someone with a number of food allergies to watch out for, I also appreciate that their drink base is non-dairy, and they also have almond milk available as an option. The staff are always very friendly, and if you have any special requests (or are very indecisive) they're happy to help you come to a delicious decision. Plus, free wi-fi! The things that could use improvement? I wish they had more locations around town -- having to drive to the other side of town to get my boba fix makes me sad. I wish Madison could support another bubble tea place or two -- one on each side of town. But that's just a wish on my part; overall, they're centrally located, which is great. Also, their location is fairly open floor plan -- tall ceilings, and not a lot on the walls. This isn't a problem when it's not busy, but this place is ALWAYS BUSY. (Mostly a good thing!) But busy means noisy, and without anything on the walls or floor to deaden the sound, it really hinders my desire to hang out do a bit of work on their free wifi, and drink my bubble tea! Overall, I still highly recommend stopping by to at least try it out. And if it's loud in there, I guess you could always ask people to use their inside voices. =)
