  • My husband and I went on a sunset tour of the South Rim on 10/26/15. We knew we wanted to see the Grand Canyon but didn't know much more than that. We looked at reviews and Grand-Adventures's name kept coming up as the best company to take a tour with. We found Grand-Adventures's website and found it to be very informative. It listed exactly what you'd be getting and doing on each trip and the pros and cons of each. Because of this, we chose the South Rim. We wanted to do the day trip but it was full on the day we wanted to go. We considered going with another company but decided to do the sunset tour of the South Rim and we are very glad we did. Our tour guide was Alfonso. I cannot say enough about how great this tour was. We got some amazing pictures because of Alfonso. Not only did he know where the best places for pictures were, he took most of them for us so we could both be in them, as well as some pictures of our whole group. He made sure we got to see the sunset, which was absolutely breathtaking. He kept us entertained with historical facts and was a genuinely nice man. Also, it was on the cold side and he had extra jackets for those that didn't bring any. And had cold water during the drive and at the Grand Canyon for anybody who wanted one. Those little details made this an even better trip. We received an email telling us what time and which hotel we'd be picked up at. Alfonso arrived on time and after picking up one other couple (there were a total of 6 of us, plus Alfonso) we were on our way! We first stopped at McDonalds for breakfast. We could order anything we wanted, which was included in the trip. I liked the fact that this was noted on the website so we knew not to eat ahead of time or to do so if we don't like McDonalds. Then we went to the Hoover Dam, which is amazing. We stopped for gas and then stopped at a store on Route 66. Alfonso let us know what was coming next after each stop and how long it would be so we were prepared and knew how long it would before our next bathroom break. Once we got to the Grand Canyon, we stopped at an area (with a great view!) and ate lunch (which we'd ordered when we signed up so we knew what we were getting) and then started walking around. Alfonso pointed out many things for us and showed us where to get some great photo shoots. It was like having our own personal guide, which made a huge difference. He answered any questions we had and made a point of making the trip enjoyable for us all. If we are ever back in Las Vegas and want to see the Grand Canyon again, we will most definitely use Grand-Adventures. They are worth every penny!
