| - My parents wanted to stay in a more toned-down, quiet hotel setting for this trip, compared to the boisterous Las Vegas Strip hotel/casino settings that we stayed in before on previous family trips.
We decided to try out the Residence Inn Las Vegas South. We did not know what to expect from a Marriott hotel in Las Vegas, especially one that was located off the Strip. But don't let the calm demeanor and appearance of this hotel fool you. This place totally surpassed our expectations!! And we are really thankful that we stayed here!! All the staff members here ROCK and work hard together to make your stay as comfortable and meaningful as possible!!
From the moment we walked through the hotel lobby doors, Morgan (one of the front desk clerks) greeted us right away! I asked her about early check-in. She said our room was not ready yet, since it was still before 3 pm. But she made us feel very welcome and comfortable by allowing us to help ourselves to complimentary refreshments and other front lobby amenities while our room was being prepared.
After we had checked in and needed further directions on how to get around town, Morgan was so friendly and courteous and provided us with very easy-to-follow instructions. She also asked and made sure that our 2-bedroom suite was comfortable and met our needs.
We had a full-size kitchen complete with a stove and refrigerator, plenty of pots and pans, dishes, plates and utensils, and a decent-sized table with four chairs. The living room area had a comfy sofa and an armchair, coffee table, and TV. Each of the 2 bedrooms had a spacious bathroom, huge and comfy bed, and a TV. We felt so relaxed and completely at home!!
In addition to Morgan, there were also other front desk clerks who were extremely friendly and helpful and we felt completely at ease asking them questions at any time!
I remember a clerk named Jasmine who also went out of her way to get me a tray from the kitchen, just so I could take some additional food items from the evening reception back to our room! The kitchen crew was so generous, too, and encouraged us to take as much food from the evening reception selection as we could eat!
The complimentary breakfast each morning was really nice!! We loved how the Residence Inn served a lot of HOT breakfast items, like waffles, scrambled eggs, sausages, and bacon! And the kitchen crew was so prompt in bringing out more fresh items once certain food trays had to be replenished!
There is also a complimentary hotel shuttle service that runs very frequently between the Residence Inn and to Aria and Mandalay Bay on the Las Vegas Strip, as well as to the Las Vegas Airport! What an awesome perk! Especially since it saved most hotel guests the hassle of driving their cars and having to find parking on the crowded Strip.
We could not have asked for a nicer and more quiet stay in Las Vegas!! It was perfect for being close by enough that we could always hop over to the Strip when we wanted to! And it was a good distance away so that we could be away from the casinos and night life when we needed peace and quiet, and actually get a good night's sleep each night! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a nice, quiet, and super comfortable hotel stay!!
