I am an experienced health care practitioner and have seen many EDs here in Vegas and Florida. I used to work with EDs streamlining the process for patient care. Time is always the factor. I came in Monday morning after having a sustained temp of more than 102 all weekend. I registered online for a 930 appt, but it was not necessary since because they started on me almost immediately upon arrival. They took me behind the counter to take my vital signs, then to the triage nurse for some history. It was straight to the assessment room from there. Nurse and Provider were working on me simultaneously. Nurse was drawing blood while the provider was doing her assessment. Soon after that was X-ray, after that I was transferred to the treatment room where I was given IV fluids while waiting for test results. Test results came back in a little over an hour. Physician discussed the results and explained the prescriptions. Nurse explained everything the physician and provider pretty much told me and handed me my prescriptions. The best way to describe this ED is that it runs well like a well oiled machine. I live across the street from St Rose Sienna and have no idea what kind of patient care they do there. I will always drive the extra ten minutes to go to Henderson Hospital if i have any medical needs (knock on wood). They definitely set the gold standard.
