  • The epitome of a classier "locals" hotel/casino in Las Vegas is Green Valley Ranch! It's been a little bit since my last stay at GVR, but certainly nothing has changed at the Italian themed resort! From the moment you walk in the main lobby you notice the classy Italian decor! You find yourself walking throughout the resort saying to yourself, "this is beautiful"! It's on the upper end for a locals hotel stay in price, as you'd normally expect to pay in the $150 per night neighborhood. The buffet here is definitely a step up from the normal off strip casinos. The desserts and Sunday brunch are without doubt their best features on the buffet for the price! Perhaps the best feature at GVR is the pool! It's a fairly large pool with a sand bottom that gradually ends on a small beach! There are small separate wading pools that surround the main pool for the adults to enjoy without the kids! Since it's a locals casino, just remember to get your "players card" to save on dining options and many other resort amenities! GVR has a nice bingo parlor and a super nice movie theater for your family's enjoyment! Located next to a nice shopping district, GVR is safe for you and your kids as the clientele is a bit better than typical off strip locations!
