| - A group of us girls reserved the room upstairs to celebrate one of our colleagues going away party. Upon entering the restaurant we all commented on the inviting ambiance and eclectic decor. We were quite pleased with our choice! Our waitress, Alyssa, was cordial enough as we settled in for dinner and cocktails. All was going well until the end of the evening. That's when a chain of events began that left me running out the door, never to return again... and prompting this review.
One of my employees had excused herself to visit the ladies room. Upon her return she mentioned that the floors were extremely slippery and she almost fell several times. She cautioned us to be careful. Shortly afterwards, my other employee was served a martini with a long stran of black hair. The drink was replaced, but no apologies or discounts were offered. In fact, Alyssa chuckled at the idea. I had then excused myself to visit the restroom and upon taking one step from my seat slipped on the floor and came crashing down, almost impaling my arm on a nearby chair. My entire body weight was hanging from the back of this chair! My staff rushed to my aid while the waitstaff stood in awe behind the bar. Mortified, I scurried along pretending to be fine while the pain in my arm progressly intensified. Alyssa was waiting at the table upon my return, but NOT to offer her apologies. Only to inform me "that's why she's glad they get to wear Chucks because the floors are always so slick" (mind you I was not in heels, nor intoxicated) and to communicate that she was only able to run 80% of my bill on the gift card I had presented for payment (I was awaiting a new debit card in the mail and only had a gc to pay). "It's something about restaurants and gifts cards. I dont know" was her response. My employee was also given the same information. However, in fact 85% of my bill was charged to the gift card so this blew their theory out of the water and I'm left to think that the entire thing was a scam. We soon exited the restaurant, highly disappointed with the turn of events, to fetch our valet and head home. A manager was never involved and I am in so much pain today that I'm considering visiting my doctor to examine my arm. I guess I just would have expected a bit more from an establishment that presents themselves to be upscale. Instead, I left $47 in the hole for a drink, a fried dough and a prawn that was so fishy I couldn't eat it, still hungry and writhing in pain. It's too bad that the focus got shifted away from the farewell party and on to the poor service.
