  • It's very rare that we are able to go out to have a nice dinner with our busy schedule/strict diets so we decided to go to Zinc Bistro for the occasion. We were seated in a strange corner booth that awkwardly faces another group of people.. Just the beginning of a terrible dining experience. The service was absolutely dreadful. Our server was very brief; she didn't bother to go over the menu with us nor did she even spend more than 30 seconds interacting with us. She brought us very warm, watered down "hot brewed coffee" that was some of the worst coffee I've ever had. When I asked her what she would recommend for an entree, she gave me a stony look and responded very rudely. After she finished taking our order, they brought us cold/chewy bread that was hard to eat. When our entrees finally arrived, our server stopped by to ask if everything was okay, she turned to walk away while I was in the middle of answering. Although the service was unpleasant, our food was quite the opposite: appealing! I ordered the Duck Confit and would go back to order it again. So many different flavors that balanced very well together. Tender/ juicy duck leg, delicious bean cassoulet and cherry tomatoes to cut through all of the heaviness of the dish. The foie gras sausage had no liver taste to it at all which I loved! After dinner we were pretty stuffed but wanted to try dessert. Having a hard time deciding, we thought our server was coming by to help out but she came over to say "are you going to order the soufflĂ© because it takes 20 minutes to bake and we close in 20 mins". We decided against ordering more food and asked for the check. Our server didn't come by to pick up our payment for a while. We weren't sure why she was being so friendly to the table a few feet away and being so cold to us. We are pleasant people and can be very generous when it comes to ordering and tipping. We would never act rude to people working in the service industry so it was just awful to have this experience. Although we had a rollercoaster of experiences here, we would definitely come back to give them another try, the food is very good! The hostess was friendly and the server assistants did a good job refilling waters and clearing our finished dishes. Cheers!
