| - If you haven't stopped in to the Nervous Dog, you need to do yourself a favor and do so.
My go-to drinks on the menu are the Triple Threat, the Nutty Irish, the Black and White Mocha, and whatever the Barista's Choice might be (Unless it's got Amaretto in it, then I'll pass - sorry Jim, but the Conquistador made me gag). If Anna's working, ask for a "Narwhal Bacons at Midnight" or a "Bite My Shiny Metal Ass". Especially if you're on your way to work, leave a little bit of time for waiting - sometimes there's only one barista, and if a line backs up it can take a couple of minutes to get a drink.
The staff is mostly fantastic, the perfect blend of sarcastic and friendly, willing to make a recommendation if you need one, and willing to make fun of you if you forget this isn't Starbucks and order something "grande".
The crowd (when there is one - I can't believe this place isn't swarmed far more than it is) is generally a mixture of locals, business-type folks, college students, coffee snobs, hipsters, and nerds. There's plenty of seating - multiple bars, tables, armchairs, and a patio. There are outlets all over the place for charging your gadgets, too. And wifi, of course.
The music is sometimes loud, but not so loud that I can't drown it out with my own headphones, and it doesn't bother me when I'm studying. It's also an ever-changing musical atmosphere - it depends on who's working, which is always fun. Frequently they have local music on Friday nights.
